Projects
Numérique Éco-responsable
2026 -- 2033
Type: PEPR
Keywords: software eco-design
The project aims to carefully study individuals’ practices and requirements in order to challenge the emergence of environmental-aware methodologies and potential technologies. The outcome of the project would consist in recommendations and specifications to build maintenance processes and tools for software eco-design, evaluation of hardware-induced constraints due to software architecture scenarios.
AIM-PRO
2026 -- 2031
Type: ERASMUS+
Keywords: digital twin
The AIM-PRO project aims to boost AI literacy across higher education and vocational training by providing innovative tools, frameworks, and resources rooted in Open Education, Gener- ative AI, and Digital Twin technology. It addresses the urgent need to integrate AI competencies into diverse educational and professional contexts, ensuring inclusivity and adaptability for all learners, regardless of their formal qualifications. By fostering multidisciplinary collaboration and deep tech expertise, AIM-PRO bridges education, research, and industry to create resilient, AI-literate communities. The project also emphasizes ethical AI deployment, environmental awareness, and entrepreneurial skills to build inclusive and forward-thinking education systems in Europe.

EDT
2026 -- 2031
Type: French programme agency
Keywords: Digital Twins, HCI, live programming
EDT is a program that ambitions to develop the required foundations of the science and engineering of digital twins to propose the principles, tools and methods to support digital twin development, validation and verification, deployment, maintenance and evolution. KHORA will be involved in the coordination of the program, the coordination of one PC (PC5, called Genuine), and will participate to the different PCs (PC3, PC5) through the supervision of PhD students. Genuine, Engineering Human-Digital Twin Interactions, aims at proposing new techniques to ease the creation of highly interactive DTs.
CLEM
2026 -- 2030
Type: ANR France-Austria (French research agency)
Keywords: live programming, exploratory programming
The main objective of the CLEM project is the development of a tool-supported method- ology that combines live and exploratory modeling (LEM) for behavioral modeling languages. Specifically, we will explore and provide concepts and techniques for LEM on a generic level using language workbenches, thus enabling LEM for all modeling languages created with them.
FutureFlow
2026 -- 2030
Type: ANR (French research agency)
Keywords: scientific computing, exploration
In the context of Headwater catchments (HWC) and scientific computing, the FutureFlow project aims at transferring innovations from software engineering in model switching and multi- fidelity to the field of HWC hydrology. It proposes to develop an innovative modelling framework that leverages existing as well as newly developed models of different fidelities and automatically deploys them to various geomorphic and geologic contexts, using multiple data sources for model parameterization and allowing automated model uncertainty assessment.
Anime-Water
2024 -- 2027
Type: IRIS-E
Keywords: scientific computing, validity frame
ANIME-WATER addresses the challenge to formulate new water management and sharing rules under uncertainties allowing for anticipation of future climate changes and taking into account human-non human interactions. This endeavor involves the creation of territorial digital twins, designed to bolster territorial foresight and water governance. These digital twins function as mediation tools, tailored to local expectations and enriched by a suite of generic hydrological models. This concerns all the research axes of KHORA as it focuses on making a digital twin able to use and provide experts with different types of models (global, local, generic, specific) through dedicated interaction modalities.
Matisse
2024 -- 2027
Type: EU - ECSEL JU Project
Keywords: Digital Twins
MATISSE is a European HORIZON-KDT-JU research project bringing together over 30 partners from 7 countries to develop an advanced framework for efficient engineering and validation of industrial systems using Digital Twins (DTs). By integrating DTs with model-based, data-driven, and cloud technologies, MATISSE aims to simulate, test, and predict system behaviors, enhancing both productivity and quality. This innovative approach helps companies optimize their industrial processes, reduce errors, and boost productivity, ultimately simplifying complex operations, like machinery production and factory management.
MBDO
2023 -- 2026
Type: ANR (French research agency)
Keywords: digital twin
MBDO aims at providing the foundations for a Model-Based DevOps approach unifying the different forms of models in the specific context of cloud-native and IoT systems. The proposed Model-Based DevOps approach would then allow engineers to smoothly go back and forth from Dev time to Ops time by leveraging semi-automatically generated digital twins of their systems.
